Microstructure Transformations in a Press Hardening Steel during Tailored Thermomechanical Processing

Microstructure transformation due to thermomechanical processing has an acute effect the macroscopic properties of low-carbon steels. This includes viscoplastic deformation and phase transformations. Hot forming processes such as press hardening are particularly affected. Most engineering applications require a combination high strength sufficient residual ductility, which can be achieved by development graded microstructures. Herein, evolution transformations is investigated linking experiments simulations produce For this purpose, extended material model proposed represent under inhomogeneous heating cooling strategies. On experimental side, identified during treatment flat steel specimens using digital image correlation thermal imaging. Based on results, parameters identified, simulation validated. numerical side algorithm for finite-element in steels proposed. The presented tensile specimen method.
